Week 3 Loss

This week we lost two iconic creatives. David Lynch and Neil Gaiman. While I was never a huge fan of David Lynch, and still I appreciated his weirdness. He had such a bizarre take that I really loved and admired. I never finished Twin Peaks because I moved to Panama when it was airing, and there was no streaming back in those days. I loved his movies. I recently saw on social media a clip of him explaining where ideas come from (like fishing) and I was struck. I’d heard something similar before but he had such passion about it.

I think I will dig deeper into his creative process. I really do love his take.

And then there’s Gaiman. Ah! If it’s all true, what a shmuck! He was horrible not only to women, but also his own kid. I have no comment about Amanda Palmer except the two of them seemed to create a atmosphere where the shit he did was okay, until it wasn’t. Gives me the heebee jeebees. I hate that we idolize creators like we do. And I’m guilty too! I had a Peter Frampton poster when I was a kid. But ideas are fish! They aren’t the person. And while I may not pick up anything new by Gaiman, I won’t let go of the characters I love. Yvaine and Tristan, Shadow, Laura and Mr. Wednesday, Dream, and of course, Crowley and Aziraphale. People are not black and white, they are so very grey. Trust me, I know. I won’t give up what I love because of their stupid.

Meme’s for the week?

And so here we are. No telling how far Trump will go, but go on. I like this approach!

“Instead of searching for illusory quick fixes for the existence of the Trump administration, start demanding the Trump administration fix everything quickly.”

I’m on week 3! A better streak of blog writing I’ve not had. YAY! In other accomplishments, I finished edits on a short story this weekend, and I’m still working on my ideas for a romance, fishing as it were. Figure I’ll be patient and keep at it. Until next week…

Peace!
